Place heart shape on cake and dust the cake with powdered sugar to make the heart shape impression on the cake. Remove paper. Use this as a guide to cut a shallow (1\/2\u2033) heart shape out of the center of the cake. Heart shape should reach to about 1\u2033 from cake edge. Break removed cake pieces into large crumbs.
