Your child will require COVID testing for any upcoming surgical procedure.
The Pre-Operative COVID Testing will need to be completed at least 4-5 days prior to their date of their scheduled procedure.
If your child is having their surgical procedure at Oishei Children’s Hospital, the following information pertains to COVID testing:
The testing will occur 4-5 days prior to the scheduled procedure date. The COVID-19 test is an oral swab (similar to a swab for strep throat) and will be a drive through setting. There are 3 different locations where the testing can take place, therefore you will be able to schedule a time and location that is most convenient for you. The staff at Oishei Children’s Hospital will contact you directly to schedule the testing. The call may come up as “Spam Risk” on caller ID, so please ensure that your voicemail box is not full as they will leave a detailed message if you miss the call. If you do not hear from the hospital regarding scheduling Pre-Operative COVID-19 testing and your child’s procedure is about 2 weeks away, please call our office at (716)-362-9730.
If your child is having their surgical procedure at The Ambulatory Surgery Center of WNY, the following information pertains through COVID testing:
The COVID testing will occur 4 days prior to the procedure date. The test is an oral swab (similar to a swab for strep throat). The COVID test is administered in a drive through setting. The testing will be done through KSL Diagnostics and will take place at 1000 Youngs Road, Buffalo, NY 14221. Our office staff will arrange the Pre-Operative COVID-19 testing for you and call you with the time of the appointment on the designated day, so please make sure that your voicemail box is not full as we will leave you a detailed message if you miss the call.
